Quick impressions from tonight.

This party was a successful experiment for multiple reasons:

1) sold out with almost no marketing - CHECK (people really care about this thing!)

2) get real turntable.fm DJs to come and actually get the NY tech mafia who was there to stop looking at the phone and dance - CHECK

3) get the virtual crowd involved - CHECK (they not only helped to get club music played by speaking up in the chat room, but they were obsessively checking the live updates like a superball)

4) open bar - CHECK (that helped to get the geeks dance!)

5) few/no network problems - CHECK (thanks devs who were working tonight instead of getting drunk for free)

6) guy with the sparkly pants - CHECK (every dance party should have one)

Good job Turntable.fm (and real DJs actually mixing the songs)! Please tolerate 3 suggestions for the future:

1) pinapple juice in the bar

2) a live webcam to get the virtual crowd updated and warm

3) better marketing/communication: it should have been a battle between NYC and Seattle, but nobody really figured that out or cared - irrelevant for tonight but should be managed better in the future!

Finally: shout to the guys from http://shopturntable.fm/  - you are the best!
